very durable and heavy duty compared to other inexpensive lighters. Gets extremely hot and has a very nice pin-point flame. I don't know what kind of ignition system this lighter has, but it lights every time I hit the trigger. |

Nice small flame, easy to light and is hot enough for small silver solder jobs.
It is a marvelous little torch and I love it. |

Ony one thing, It would be nice if one could adjust the mixture to a reducing flame. Otherwise I can't think of any weaknesses of the AT-2056. |

In my opinion the AT-2056 is superior to the new model; the MJ-280. The MJ-280
has too small a base and it tips over too easily. I don't know if anyone has noticed but the lid comes out further than the flame and it gets in the way.
I am very pleased to find out that the AT-2056 is still available. |

Unit is advertised as a "heat gun", which it is not. This unit is a pencil flame torch, much like a propane torch. Burner unit heats up quickly; there is a danger of melt down and loss of fuel containment. |

This is an excellent small flame torch. It is compact and easy to use and refuel. Unit can only be used for brief periods due to the burner head heating up. Flame cover lock is in the flame path and and could use some modification. As this unit uses a live flame, it is not easily used as a heat gun. |

I purchased 2 of these lighters in August 2009 and neither lasted a year. One lasted 8 months and the other lasted 10. The plastic trigger that is depressed for ignition broke on the first lighter and the spring broke on the second. |
